BCS Teacher Jon Kovey Recognized for Highest SDC Exam Results

BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn.—  Eagleton College and Career Academy Business instructor Jon Kovey has been recognized by The College System of Tennessee in its Statewide Dual Credit (SDC) exam report. Kovey's SDC 2024-2025 business class had a pass rate of 64 percent, beating the state average by over 50 points.

“This is an amazing accomplishment by our ECCA students and Mr. Kovey,” said BCS Superintendent Justin Ridge. “At BCS, we value teaching life skills alongside our classroom instruction. Mr. Kovey continues to utilize his nontraditional path to teaching, combined with his experience as a current business owner, to impact our students in a positive way.”

The SDC program has opened doors for thousands of students across the state as Tennessee continues to offer high-quality early postsecondary opportunities. Kovey is empowered to keep teaching and fostering opportunities thanks to the success of his students.

“At the end of the day I do this because I love working with these kids,” said Kovey. “I really want them to be able to get out and go do whatever they want to do in the world. It’s the best feeling in the world when you see your kids succeed.” For more news on Blount County Schools, please visit www.blountk12.org
