4th Grade

Welcome to 4th Grade

It is going to be a great year. There are several things of importance about this year.

  • We do allow water bottles with only clear water in the classroom. Please make sure they won’t spill if knocked over.
  • Students are also welcome to bring a snack. However, cookies, chocolate bars and other sugary foods aren’t allowed.
  • We will be using SeeSaw this year but mainly for quick communication.

For discipline purposes, if your child gets in trouble they will write a ROAR Reflection. If your child receives 6, a note and a copy of all reflections will be sent home for you to sign and send back. At 7 reflections your child is ineligible for the upcoming field trip. After that, consequences increase and Mr. Tipton can be become involved. At the beginning of each 9 weeks, reflections start over and the students have a clean slate. We are hoping this will improve behavior and increase ownership of poor decisions.

If you need anything, please email us or send a message on SeeSaw. We want to keep communication open. We are excited about this school year and look forward to getting to know your child better!

If you are in my classroom, I will share a lot of these things with you. As Charles M. Schultz said, “ All you need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.”
