On Thursday, September 22 students were excited about the big reveal. In the main hallway of Rockford Elementary sat a giant cardboard box with a sign "Reveal Coming Soon". After two weeks of waiting, wondering, and imagining it was finally time to see what was in the giant box. When Mr. Tipton and Mrs. Walker pulled away the box, the flashing light revealed the brand new book vending machine.
That day 35 students got to be the first to get a book from the machine. These students had made the ROAR board the week before. Moving forward students can receive a golden coin from any staff member in the school.
With each golden coin, a student may choose a book from the vending machine to take home and keep. This book is theirs. All school staff members have 3 gold coins to give away each nine weeks. These coins are given for various reasons - reading, academics, behavior, character, etc.
We can't wait to see who earns a book!
